I am an accomplished CPA, MBA and Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of Finance experience. I am an expert at getting companies set-up and working efficiently.
My career has been the BIG 3:
1) Working at a Fortune 500 company (EMC, Data General).
2) Opening a business (English school franchise in Brazil).
3) Working at small-to-medium sized private companies.
My experience has ranged from helping companies with revenue from $100k-to-$30M and departments up to $200M.
I love Accounting and Finance and that is why I have been an adjunct professor for 10+ years.
One of the most interesting and rewarding things I have done is start an English school franchise in Brazil! My wife and I launched the school with 10 students and after 3 years we had TWO schools and 500+ students.
I am originally from Rochester, NY. I got by B.S. in Management from the University of Buffalo and my MBA from Northeastern University in Boston. I lived 15 years in Boston where I met my wife, who is Brazilian. We moved to Brazil for 7 years and returned to the USA and Florida since 2008.
However, my true passion is helping companies GROW!
My experience includes preparing budgets, managing monthly close, cash management, billing, payables, payroll and much more.
My responsibilities included: Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, IT, Billing, Authorizations, Enrollment and Compliance.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Started a recruitment department which recruited $4M salary dollars in first year.
Improved collections at multiple companies which increased cash by over a $1M.
Implemented research and development tax credit of almost $500k over a 3 year period.
Successfully started an employer of record by moving internally Human Resources, Payroll and benefits from a Professional Employment Organization decreasing our benefit expenses and costs by $300k.
Lowered freight costs $200k by renegotiating UPS contract and changing inbound freight process
Transitioned administration department of 12 to remote workers saving $100k in leasehold costs.
Strategically opened new offices which doubled revenue every two years.
Payroll accuracy of 99.5%
Instituted company’s first ever financial budget at multiple companies. My most recent budget resulted in 98% accuracy of operating expenses while providing all financial reporting.
Improved accounting infrastructure with balance sheet reconciliations and causal analysis resulting in a more efficient and timely accounting close.
Implemented Key Performance Indicators which improved KPI’s above industry standards.
